AMELIA BRYNE
BIO

/////

As a research and visual artist, I use a hybrid of social research and media making techniques in my work. I look at the details (conversations, homes, relationships, stores, interactions, best practices, online dialogues, the price of gas, the news) to create frameworks that help people understand the big picture.

/////

I have conducted research for the public and private sector, including work as a market analyst for the automotive industry, and into subjects ranging from developing sustainable food systems to perceptions of the future in China. My interests include ecological economics, resilient infrastructure and agriculture, cultural stories, visual poetry, visioning alternative futures, and living more simply.

////

I studied sociocultural anthropology at Columbia University, Barnard College in New York City (B.A., 2003) and visual anthropology at the Joint Graduate Program in Communication & Culture, Toronto, Canada (M.A., 2007).
