Tea Party
From a series of films by Amelia Bryne

When Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden married the Swedish media were full of stories for weeks. The wedding itself was day long television event, and the streets of Stockholm were filled with supporters. I made this little film with the idea that it would become part of a larger series of films of everyday life Sweden -- massive candy stores, summers at the lake, winter candles, 1960s suburbs, and so on.

Seeing it now, I feel the film documents not only the event, but also something of the relationship between the physical and the media worlds. As we watch television -- use computers, etc. -- we often have things that hold our attention in the physical world. Movement from the sofa to the kitchen, sips of drink, bits of conversation, shifting one's body.
